Transient status allows degree-seeking students enrolled at another institution to take courses which are not offered at their parent institution at Florida State University on a space-available basis. Students must be in good academic standing at their parent institution and (if previously enrolled) at Florida State.
Transient applications may be submitted no earlier than one semester in advance of the term for which the applicant is seeking admission.

- Students whose parent institution is a Florida public college or university should apply through FloridaShines.
- Students whose parent institution is a private or non-Florida public college or university should download and complete the Incoming Transient Form. Approved applications may be emailed to admissions@pc.fsu.edu with "transient application" in the subject line.
- Students whose home institution is Florida State University should refer to the Registrar's Office for information on how to enroll as a transient student at another institution.
