Peer Success Mentor Program

Success mentors at Florida State University Panama City are current, degree-seeking undergraduate students at FSU Panama City who work closely with student success staff and other campus stakeholders to provide FSU PC students with support and insight into navigating the academic and social transitions of college and towards success. When meeting with a success mentor, students can discuss various topics, including time management, overcoming procrastination, study strategies, test preparation, stress reduction, and university engagement and involvement. Success mentors assist students in navigating college life, connecting them with appropriate resources and services, developing essential skills and strategies for college success, and ensuring students are aware of various FSU resources.

Success mentors also serve as leaders and mentors in Engage 100 courses that are designed to help first-year students shape their college experience. In their assigned Engage 100 course, support the course instructor by participating in and leading small-group and whole-class discussions, hosting engagement and community-building opportunities, and designing and implementing one to three class lessons.
