‘Career Connections’ event will network students with local business, jobs, mentors
Florida State University Panama City will hold a networking and mentoring event for students seeking professional careers in March. Career Connections will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Holley Academic Center lecture hall, 4750 Collegiate Drive, Panama City. Admission is free, but students must register and submit their resumes by March 6 to be eligible to participate.
Keynote speaker for the event will be Allan Bense, former Speaker of the Florida State House of Representatives and a community leader.
Career Connections is a fast-paced, high impact career networking event, according to organizer Wendy Ritz, DBA, associate teaching professor at FSU Panama City. It is designed to connect rising junior and senior students with seasoned professionals for focused, 10-minute, one-on-one career conversations. Students who will benefit include those who have an interest in accounting, business administration, communications, engineering, entrepreneurship, leadership, management, logistics/contracts, procurement and more.
Some of the participating businesses include Central Moloney Inc., E.F. San Juan, FOUND Marketing, FUUL Mule, Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport, Port Authority Panama City, Quik Stop FL, The Sales Fix, Think Real Estate and Warren Averett.
