In a partnership with the Florida State University Panama City STEM Institute, The Collegiate School (TCS) is hosting it first Summer Institute in June and July, a series of camps for students who have completed grades 6-8.

Camps will focus on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics) topics, including crime scene investigation, digital design, robotics programming and more. Sessions will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the dates listed below.

CSI: SUMMER - June 10-13, $150; learn the techniques used by crime scene investigators to identify evidence using science and critical thinking.

FOR THE LOVE OF LIT (PART 1) - June 10-13, $150; explore the themes of literature and analyze notable literature selections.

CODING WITH PYTHON - Fridays only June 7-July 26, $200; dive into text-based coding, learn the fundamentals of programming, explore concepts and build apps. By July, students can earn a certification to showcase their skills.

FIND YOUR VOICE - June 24-26, $100; develop public speaking skills while learning about the most interesting U.S. presidents and their speeches.

INTRO TO CODING - July 8-11, $150; explore the world of coding and program a robot to compete in an obstacle course.

FOR THE LOVE OF LIT (PART 2) - July 8-11, $150; explore the themes of literature and analyze notable literature selections.

PHOTOGRAPHY 101 - July 15-16, $75; learn photography editing skills using Adobe Photoshop.

AGREE TO DISAGREE - July 15-18, $150; develop public speaking skills and competitive debate tactics.

DIGITAL MEDIA AND DESIGN - July 17-18, $75; learn to digital design and create graphics for various platforms.

BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE - July 22-25, $150; learn how the structure and function of DNA influences the way scientists use the Central Dogma for Biomedical Research.

CODING WITH ROBLOX - July 22-25, $150; learn the fundamentals of coding while building your own games on the Roblox platform.

“We hope students will take advantage of these exciting camps since each of them explores career options and pathways available at The Collegiate School at FSU Panama City,” said Jenna Edwards, administrative specialist with TCS.
