Law Enforcement Operations
Housed under FSU Panama City’s Public Safety & Security program, the law enforcement operations major integrates analytic and hands-on practical exercises with theoretical principles to provide students with the knowledge, skills and abilities to succeed in law enforcement, security, intelligence or investigations. A broad range of coursework available online and in-person focuses on the criminal justice system, ethics, interview and interrogation techniques, understanding drug culture, homeland security issues and using technology in investigations.
Students can tailor their education with a certificate in underwater crime scene investigation. Graduates can further advance their career with a master’s level graduate certificate or master’s degree in law enforcement intelligence.
Through on-campus and online coursework and a real-world capstone project, the program prepares graduates to plan and carry out intelligence and surveillance operations in dynamic security settings at the federal, state and local level.
Combining academic skills and real-world experience, the law enforcement operations major ensures students have the tools necessary to succeed in future careers in law enforcement, intelligence services or the military.

Local, State, and Federal Law Enforcement Officers and Special Agents including such diverse specialties as: Air Marshall, Alcohol/Tobacco/Firearms Agent, FBI Special Agent, US Marshall, Border Patrol Agent, Conservation Officer, Criminal Investigator, Crime Scene Investigator, Intelligence Analyst, Secret Service Agent, Fish and Game Warden, Immigration Inspector, Medical Examiner Investigator, and Postal Inspector.
