The FSU Panama City ASCENT Program is a 10-year. Initially a 6-year program, FSU Panama City’s ASCENT has been expanded to a 10-year, $23 million project partially funded by Triumph Gulf Coast Inc. It is designed to contribute to the development of a strong, regional workforce in cybersecurity and innovative technologies. We were changed from a 6-yr to a 10-yr grant with Triumph Gulf Coast. ASCENT aims to develop and deliver education and training resources for industry-specific certifications for Northwest Florida students and professionals to position them for job attainment and/or advancement. ASCENT projects focus on increasing the interest of K-12 students in engineering, computer science, information technology, and cybersecurity fields; expanding undergraduate degree programs at FSU Panama City to include Information Technology with a specialization in cybersecurity; and delivering non-credit customized training courses and testing to meet the workforce needs of our community partners.
