S.A.M.E Student Chapter President and FSU PC Civil Engineering Student

“It’s exciting that not only has engineering taught me a lot in school, but also outside the classroom because of the life skills that were acquired through the challenging work I have had to do. The best part of being the S.A.M.E. Student Chapter President is the connections that I can build with other engineers and employers that will bring many friendships and future career opportunities in the engineering field.” about Lorem Ipsum

STEM Events

STEM on Campus aims to elevate women in STEM careers and encourage girls to reach their potential in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Research on women in STEM has shown that achievements and interest in math and science are shaped by the social and cultural environment. Including, family expectations, stereotypes and self-assessment about personal  and spatial skills. (American Association of University Women [AAUW], “Why So Few?”)

One way to cultivate an interest in STEM related fields is to provide examples of female role models in these career areas. STEM on Campus facilitates events where girls will be introduced to women making a difference in the world in part because of their love for science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
