Jonathan VanSteenburg: Computer science student has limitless possibilities

Jonathan VanSteenburg, who has cerebral palsy, uses adaptive communication devices to interact with people in person and online. He hopes to use a degree in computer science to design software that is more user-friendly for people with disabilities.

Alumnus to discuss importance of adventure, travel during ‘From Panama City to Pakistan’

FSU Panama City alumnus Pope Thrower, who is the press attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam, will present “From Panama City to Pakistan (and a few places in between): The importance of adventure and travel for future careers” during a Nole Talk at noon Sept. 29, in Holley B212.

Donors, mentors aid real-world engineering challenge

Electrical engineering students at FSU Panama City must overcome a final real-world challenge before graduation: senior design projects. With the help of community mentors and funding from donors Tom and Donna McCoy, students take their knowledge outside of the classroom to create devises for national defense, communication and environmental preservation.
