Transfer Admissions - Prerequisite Coursework

For students earning 52 hours or an AA degree interested in pursuing a Prehealth Profession, the following recommended courses must be completed with a final grade of C- or better at the time of application:

  • BSC X010, X010L Biological Science I and Lab and BSC X011, X011L Biological Science II and Lab
  • CHM X045, X045L General Chemistry I and Lab and CHM X046, X046L General Chemistry II and Lab
  • PSY X012 General Psychology
  • MAC X105 College Algebra (a prerequisite for Chemistry)
  • MAC X140 Pre-Calculus 
  • MAC X114 Trigonometry

The expected program prerequisites for other similar majors in the State University System list the BSC X010, X010L, PSY X012 as prerequisites but do not include CHM X045, X045L and MAC X140. BSC X085 and X086 are not required as prerequisites for students desiring to pursue a health profession.
