Amy S. Polick, PhD, BCBA-D is the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs over academic programs at Florida State University Panama City and is the Associate Dean for FSU’s College of Applied Studies. She received her PhD in Experimental Psychology, specializing in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), from Auburn University, and she has an MS Degree in Experimental Psychology from Auburn University, an MS degree in Psychology/ABA from FSU Panama City, and a BS degree in Psychology from FSU in Tallahassee.

Dr. Polick has been a faculty member at FSU since 2010. In addition to her role as Associate Dean, she is a Teaching Professor in the Psychology Department and is the Development Director for the FSU Early Childhood Autism Program (ECAP). She currently teaches graduate courses in the Experimental Analysis of Behavior and Performance Management/Supervision in the FSU ABA Master’s Program. Additionally, she founded a new MS program in FSU’s College of Applied Studies that combines courses in Organizational Behavior Management (using ABA for management and leadership in businesses and organizations) with Professional Communication to train graduate students in Organizational Management and Communication (the first of its kind for these fields).

Prior to serving FSU Panama City as Associate Dean, she led the FSU Early Childhood Autism Program (ECAP) with program oversight, expansion, fundraising, and grants, which led to the development of an on-campus ABA clinic at FSU PC in 2012, a Parent Resource Center in 2015, and increased scholarship funds for children receiving ABA therapy in the program. She has been recognized for teaching excellence at FSU by receiving the university’s Undergraduate Teaching Award in 2013 and is an FSU Notable ‘Nole (2015).

Dr. Polick is a doctoral-level board certified behavior analyst (BCBA-D) with over 20 years of clinical experience. She served on the board of directors for the Florida Association for Behavior Analysis (FABA) from 2011-2022, is a Past-President of FABA, and was the first female Executive Director of FABA, serving in that role from 2015-2022. Her clinical and research interests include evidence-based approaches in ABA treatment for individuals diagnosed with autism, essential behavioral strategies for successful organizational leadership, behavior analytic methods for college teaching, and developing cost-effective ABA treatment options for families affected by autism and other related disabilities who have financial hardships.

Dr. Polick’s research has been published in the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis, Behavior Analysis in Practice, and the Experimental Analysis of Human Behavior Bulletin.
