Peer Tutoring

Whether you are stuck on a specific problem or need help writing a paper, our tutors are here to help. Student tutoring allows you the ease of talking with a classmate with the comfort of knowing they have been recommended by faculty. They know what they are talking about and they speak your language.

If the courses or subject areas you need support in are not listed, please speak with our academic advising team at, to arrange a tutor. To request remote tutoring through the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) on the Tallahassee campus, email It may take 24 hours to hear back from ACE, so be proactive and plan ahead.

Peer tutoring available on campus

Peer tutoring will be available for all undergraduate FSU Panama City students both in-person on campus and remotely through Zoom. If you need tutoring support, please email the peer tutor listed below in advance for a specific course(s). Tutoring will be in-person in the John and Gail Robbins Center for Academic Excellence and Innovation unless you specify with the tutor that you would like to meet via Zoom instead. 

Please note: Students are strongly encouraged to email peer tutors in advance about the subject material they would like reviewed and should schedule an appointment. If you experience difficulty reaching a Peer Tutor outside their regularly scheduled availability listed below, you may email or call (850) 770-2263 to be connected with available resources.

ACE offers group tutoring for a variety of subjects, led by ACE tutors. These sessions are to answer student questions for the course so please come prepared with notes and questions. The Reading and Writing Center on the Tallahassee campus also offers tutoring to FSU students online.

Apply to be a Peer Tutor at FSU Panama City

Peer tutors must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for this paid OPS position. 

  • Be a current FSU PC undergraduate or graduate student 
  • Must have been enrolled as an FSU degree seeking student for at least one semester 
  • Must have completed at least one full semester as an FSU Degree seeking student 
  • Have earned an overall/cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (based on all college-level coursework completed, not just your FSU GPA)
  • Have an academic record free of any past or pending Academic Honor Policy and Behavior Conduct Violations 
  • Earned at least a B+ or higher in the course(s) you wish to tutor

Process to Apply To Be A Tutor

  • Complete an online application
  • Upload a Personal Statement (300 word limit explaining why you wish to become a peer tutor) with your application 
  • Instructor Recommendation Form: complete the top portion of the form and send to FSU PC course instructor for the course you wish to tutor in. Please note, forms must be submitted by an FSU PC instructor. An "instructor" is defined as a faculty or graduate level instructor with primary teaching responsibilities in the course you have completed. If you did not take the course at FSU PC, please contact for more information on who can complete the recommendation form. Instructors may submit one form for multiple courses. Forms must be sent directly to The Chapman Center from the instructor. (Please hyperlink "Instructor Recommendation Form" with uploaded form) 

Once all required materials (application, personal statement, and all recommendation forms) have been received, you will receive an update on your application via email.
