FSU PC TO HOST ANNUAL SUICIDE AWARENESS SUMMIT IN SEPTEMBER

Florida State University Panama City’s 2026 Suicide Awareness Summit will embrace the theme, “Hope has a Purpose.” The event, scheduled for 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25, will take place in the Holley Academic Center lecture hall and rotunda, 4750 Collegiate Drive, Panama City.

The annual day of seminars, workshops and networking is a free, in-person-only event open to the community. Admission is free. Community mental health resource tables will be available. 

Discussion of issues and solutions surrounding mental health and suicide will include evidence-based training. Advance registration for the summit may be completed via Eventbrite. Keynote speakers include Jessica Felts, Corey Landry and Rachelle Burns.

Following the morning session, an optional “CALM” training will be from 1:30-3 p.m., provided by Lauren Anzaldo, EdD, LCSW, with the Suicide Prevention Team of the Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System. Separate advance registration is required for this training: eventbrite.com/e/1996808205094.
