The St. Joe Community Foundation on Thursday presented checks totaling $90,500 to the Florida State University Foundation to support two FSU Panama City initiatives: the Early Childhood Autism Program and The Collegiate School.

ECAP received $75,000 for scholarships that cover services for clients with autism and related disorders, as well as updated lobby furnishings.

TCS received $15,500 to aid in support materials and emergency needs for first-generation, under-served students. That includes funds for activity fees and instructional materials, test prep support, professional attire, hygiene products and other needs.

“St. Joe continues to allow us, as a school, to make access to educational opportunities equitable for all students, so that each student can participate in and learn from high school activities and experiences at the same level as their peers,” said Debbi Whitaker, TCS director. “These funds help make those hands-on learning experiences an instrumental part of their high school journey.”

ECAP provides Applied Behavior Analysis services to children in Bay County diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays and other conditions. Learn more at PC.FSU.edu/ecap.

The Collegiate School at FSU Panama City is a tuition-free developmental laboratory charter school offering a rigorous college preparatory curriculum and career preparation. TCS opened in 2023 with 100 ninth-graders and will include grades 9-12 when the fall semester begins in August. For details, visit TCS.FSU.edu.
