FSU PC's Spring 2026 Commencement Ceremony set for Sunday, May 3
Florida State University Panama City will have its Spring 2026 Commencement at 5 p.m. Sunday, May 3, at the Atlantis Center in Lynn Haven. Former Florida senator Douglas Broxson, a member of the State University System’s Board of Governors, will present the keynote address.
FSU PC will confer more than 220 degrees, including some graduates who completed their degrees in the summer and fall of 2025, and others who will complete degree requirements this summer. That number includes 134 bachelor’s degrees, 57 master’s degrees, and 34 Doctors of Nurse Anesthesia Practice. Just over 16% are graduating with a degree of distinction (ex. Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude or Summa Cum Laude).
“This ceremony is a reflection of not only the student’s hard work and perseverance, but also of the dedicated FSU faculty and student success team that has supported them along the way and helped to instill the knowledge, experiences and principles necessary for our graduates to be successful in our community and beyond,” said Jim Allen, director of Academic & Registrar Services.
Those family members and guests unable to attend the ceremony in person may view it via live stream on the FSU Panama City home page (https://pc.fsu.edu/).
As part of the program, the university will recognize students and student-veterans who have earned academic honors and degrees of distinction, including those inducted into the Garnet Key Honor Society.
Nine military veterans are graduating from FSU PC this spring and summer. FSU military veterans are also recognized in a separate ceremony and presented with an FSU veterans alumni challenge coin and red, white and blue honor cords to be worn during their commencement ceremony. Among them will be retired U.S. Marine Corps veteran Chad Mayo, earning a bachelor of science in Computer Engineering, who will lead the Pledge of Allegiance for the event.
Prior to commencement on May 3, the Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice program will hold a hooding ceremony for its 32 doctoral graduates from 1-3 p.m. in the Holley Academic Center at FSU PC, 4750 Collegiate Drive, Panama City. Other awards and special recognitions will also be presented.
Stacey VanDyke, DNAP program administrator, will sing the national anthem at the commencement ceremony.
“Commencement is one way we celebrate and honor students’ achievements,” said Randy Hanna, dean of FSU Panama City. “Some graduates will pursue advanced degrees, while others will take the next steps in their careers, and we want to recognize this milestone in their lives.”
The Atlantis Center, an event venue and office rental agency, is located at 1002 Arthur Drive in Lynn Haven.
