Gerard Hogan receives Nursing Leadership award for excellence in education

Gerard Hogan, DNSc., a member of the teaching faculty in FSU Panama City’s Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice program, has received the Dorothy M. Smith Nursing Leadership Award for Excellence in Education.
Established in honor of Dorothy M. Smith, founding dean of the University of Florida College of Nursing, the award recognizes alumni who exemplify leadership and excellence in nursing education.
Hogan, a retired U.S. Air Force lieutenant colonel and former president of the Florida Association of Nurse Anesthetists, is pursuing his Ph.D. researching resilience among advanced practice nursing students under the mentorship of Dr. Henna Budhwani. He joined FSU Panama City’s DNAP team in 2020.
