Spooky Self-Care

Libby Douglas, Student Intern

Students enjoyed free snacks and drinks while making exfoliating scrubs and watching spooky-themed movies like Twilight during a recent Halloween apothecary event at the FSU Panama City.

Students concoct scary scrubs at Halloween-themed apothecary event

On a table in the Student Government offices, ingredients such as sugar and Epsom salts shared space with small jars in which participants could mix and make scrubs. Recipes were provided, or students could take inspiration from recipes online.

Alyssa Howell, a junior in Professional Communications, said she’s extremely interested in health and wellness, so she decided to orchestrate a Halloween-themed apothecary. “I wanted to do something for the students to be able to hang out,” said Howell. “Something related to health and wellness.”

In celebration of Halloween, the table was decorated with cute cutouts of ghosts and skulls. A mini Jack-o-lantern man stood in the middle of the table to light up the room. Visit calendar.fsu.edu/panamacityfl to find out more about upcoming events.
