FSU PANAMA CITY TO HOST ‘SHAW IS RAW’ FOOTBALL CAMP ON JUNE 15

Florida State University Panama City is hosting the “Shaw is RAW Academy” football camp at Tommy Oliver Stadium in Panama City on Saturday, June 15.

The Academy stemmed from former FSU Seminoles receiver Kenny Shaw's passion for his community, giving back and teaching young athletes how to succeed both on and off the field. These camps are about teaching not only skills and techniques on the field, but also the importance of teamwork, community and dedication.

The first session of camp, for students in grades 1-6, will be from 9-11 a.m. The second session, intended for grades 7-12, will be from 1-3 p.m. Registration is managed by the website, ShawIsRaw.com. Camps will be at Tommy Oliver Stadium, 351 E. 13th St., Panama City.

Shaw, who helped the Seminoles achieve a national title, now hosts an annual camp in Orlando, and he is bringing that camp experience to Panama City for the day. “RAW” in the camp name stands for “Resilient Athletes Worldwide,” reflecting the concept of building resilient young people through athletics.

“We all face obstacles in this life,” Shaw said. “These athletes will come to learn there is a way out of a difficult time, whether on the field or in life. We all have had to adjust and withstand these points in life, making us resilient.”
