
FSU Panama City ASCENT Initiative is a 10-year, $23 million project, partially funded by Triumph Gulf Coast, Inc., designed to strengthen Northwest Florida’s regional workforce in cybersecurity and emerging technologies. Through ASCENT, FSU Panama City develops and delivers education, training, and industry-recognized certifications that prepare students and professionals for career entry and advancement in high-demand fields.
ASCENT initiatives focus on:

Inspiring K–12 interest in engineering, computer science, information technology, and cybersecurity.

Expanding degree pathways with new undergraduate programs, including Information Technology with a specialization in cybersecurity.

Providing customized workforce training, non-credit courses, and testing services to meet the evolving needs of regional employers and community partners.
Together, these efforts position Northwest Florida as a hub for innovation, education, and economic growth in the technology and cybersecurity sectors.
