Florida State University Panama City (FSU PC) and the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) have partnered to host STEM Story: The Power of Positive Role Models for girls in sixth through eighth grades.

The one-day camp, from 9 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Nov. 13, at the Holley Academic Center at FSU PC, 4750 Collegiate Drive is designed to empower girls to embrace their interest in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math. Girls will have the opportunity to tour labs, participate in hands-on activities with FSU PC professors and students, and meet female role models in the STEM industry.

“I am so excited to be a part of the STEM Story event,” said Morgan Olsen, electrical engineering student at FSU and veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. “Ever since I was a young girl, I loved science. Sometimes it just takes one person who believes in you to prove you’re capable.”

Registration began Sept. 1 and runs through Oct. 15. For more information, visit https://pc.fsu.edu/stem/stem-story-outreach or contact Dr. Karen Works at keworks@fsu.edu.
