SEMINOLE LANDING TO WELCOME FSU PANAMA CITY STUDENTS FOR MOVE-IN DAY

Tony Simmons

Seminole Landing, the residential hall at Florida State University Panama City, will celebrate Move-In Day for the fall semester on Friday, Aug. 16, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with live music and food trucks.

About 235 students will move into the four-story apartment complex in a staggered schedule. Half of the residents are FSU Panama City students, and the other half are Gulf Coast State College students.

A local alternative rock band, Salvato, will perform in the parking lot from noon to 3 p.m. Food trucks will be on site, including Techspresso coffee from 8 a.m. to noon, Gelato Love from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and So Trucking Delicious from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. FSU Panama City students can get free tickets for the food trucks (while supplies last) from the Student Affairs tent.

New residents will find a welcome basket in their rooms and a bingo sheet to help them get acquainted with the property. Hydration stations will be set up on each floor, along with a snack station in the community room.

The upscale, fully-furnished apartments at Seminole Landing feature a TV, in-unit washer/dryer and kitchen, with utilities included. One-, two- and four-bedroom floor plans are available. Recreational amenities include a 24-hour fitness facility, bayside infinity pool, gazebo, fire pit and gas barbecue grill. Residents also have access to private study and community rooms, lounge spaces and an academic success center. For more information about Seminole Landing, visit pc.fsu.edu/Seminole-Landing.

During the Move-In Day, Student Affairs and Student Government Council will have drawings for essential needs; students can enter for the drawings via Instagram by following @fsupcstudentaffairs and @fsupcsgc, and posting photos of their move-in with the hashtag #fsupckickoff2024.

Welcome Week activities Aug. 19-23 will include DIY welcome mats, a SCUBA demonstration by the FSU PC dive club on Wednesday, a resident happy hour with mocktails on Thursday, and a rom-com movie night on Friday.

On Sunday, Aug. 25, first-year students will participate in Convocation at 1:30 p.m. in the Holley Academic Center’s St. Joe Community Foundation Lecture Hall.

Fall semester classes begin on Aug. 26.
