The Sandy Spear café has reopened under new management and with a fresh new menu.

Located in the Larson Bland Conference Center between the Holley Academic Center and Seminole Landing, the Sandy Spear overlooks North  Bay, making for a spectacular view while dining. Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Friday, with a menu that features finger foods, tacos and quesadillas, burgers and sandwiches, smothered fries, along with lighter fare of wraps and salads.

The new operators, Josh and Anastazia Harrod, were busily filling orders Thursday morning, Josh in the kitchen and Anastazia at the register.

“We’re so happy to be here at FSU Panama City, and we’re super-excited by the welcome,” Anastazia said. “We hope everyone will stop by to try our famous fry bucket!”

In addition to the smothered fries, the café offers a refillable bucket of seasoned fresh-cut fries for $10. Keep the bucket and bring it in for refills for only $5.

Among the very first customers, siblings Lin and Mohammed Alkader were enjoying an order of fries in the Sandy Spear Thursday morning. Mohammed said the fries were great, and Lin said that was true—though “he likes everything” when it comes to fast food.
