FSU PC student Theatre Club debuts, plans productions
The performing arts are thriving at FSU Panama City, where a new Theatre Club is making its debut this semester—the first ever Theatre club on this campus.
The theatre class taught by Milinda Stephenson, Ph.D., has produced short plays as part of its curriculum, but no coordinated organization has existed here in some time. However, a few students collectively decided over the summer to form Theatre Club as a way for students to mingle and practice their acting skills.

can now join a new Theatre Club that seeks to produce live shows this semester.
Tristan Costales, a senior in Professional Communications and a participant in Theatre Club said they’ve had a strong passion for Theatre for a very long time.
“I was excited to get back into Theatre,” said Costales. “When I heard Theatre Club opened, I thought it’d be a great way to dip my toes back into it.”
During the inaugural meeting on Sept. 15, participants were given a revised script for the play “Alice in Wonderland” as an exercise to practice. The dramatic reading had students in stitches.Students hope that forming the club will help expand the impact of arts and culture on campus. Club members plan to perform a play that will be free for students to attend. Concessions are expected to be provided. The production location and dates are yet to be decided.
Theatre Club will meet weekly on Mondays at 12:30 p.m. in the Old Bookstore in the Barron Building. Scheduled sessions will be used for rehearsals and to discuss decisions such as props and funding productions. All students are welcome. Prior experience in Theatre is not required.
