FSU PANAMA CITY’S SPRING COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY SET FOR SUNDAY, MAY 4
Florida State University Panama City will have its Spring 2025 Commencement at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at Tommy Oliver Stadium in Panama City. John Barnhill, the associate vice president for Enrollment Management at FSU will present the keynote address.
“The resiliency of this class of FSU Panama City graduates demonstrates their strength, perseverance and unwavering spirit in the face of unprecedented challenges,” said Jim Allen, director of Academic & Registrar Services. “This has not only shaped their academic journey but has set the tone for the impact they will make on their lives and on our community.”
Allen noted one of the graduates, Bryanna Morgan, organized a bayside candlelight vigil for FSU PC students in the wake of the recent attack on the Tallahassee campus. Morgan, who will graduate summa cum laude with a bachelor of science in Psychology, has served as Student Government Council president pro tempore and helped lead the PC student body during her academic career.
The university will recognize students and student-veterans who have earned academic honors and distinction, including those inducted into the Garnet Key Honor Society. FSU PC will bestow 214 diplomas, including some graduates who completed their degrees in the summer and fall of 2024, and others who will complete degree requirements this summer.
That number includes 121 bachelor’s degrees, 63 master’s degrees, and 30 Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice. Five graduates boast a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Prior to commencement on May 4, the DNAP Program will hold a hooding ceremony for its doctoral graduates at 1:30 p.m. in the Holley Academic Center at FSU PC, 4750 Collegiate Drive, Panama City.
Twenty-two military veterans are graduating from FSU PC this spring and summer. FSU military veterans are also recognized in a separate ceremony and presented with red, white and blue honor cords to be worn during their commencement ceremony. Among them will be retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Brian Holley, earning a bachelor of science in Psychology, who will lead the Pledge of Allegiance for the event.
While the commencement ceremony is a recognition and celebration of students’ accomplishments, commencement also signifies the culminating success of all the hard work, personal attention and commitment to student success that FSU Panama City faculty and staff provide to graduates.
“Commencement is one way we celebrate and honor students’ achievements,” said Randy Hanna, dean of FSU Panama City. “Some graduates will pursue advanced degrees, while others will take the next steps in their careers, and we want to recognize this milestone in their lives.”
