Florida State University Panama City’s Testing Center has been recently upgraded to a Pearson VUE Select Site, a significant milestone that will allow a broader range of exams, including Florida teacher certifications.

“Previously, we were only able to provide testing resources to a small cadre of exams,” said Duriel Crittenden, director of FSU PC’s Advancing Science and Career Education in New Technologies (ASCENT) Program, which includes the Testing Center. “This addition not only enhances our ability to support professional and educational growth, but also provides our community with convenient access to industry-recognized certification, exams and licenses.”

Career Education in New Technologies (ASCENT)

Among the tests now available are the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), Project Management Professional (PMP), the Florida Department of Education’s Teacher Certification Examinations (FTCE) and the Florida Educational Leadership Examination (FELE).

“By integrating this resource, we're empowering individuals to advance their careers and skillsets right here in our own facility,” Crittenden said.

This upgrade reflects FSU Panama City’s commitment to providing the highest standards of testing services and expanding opportunities for candidates to achieve their professional goals. As a Pearson VUE Select Site, FSU PC is now part of a network known for its excellence in delivering secure and reliable testing environments.

“Our team is genuinely excited about this new chapter,” said Jan Volpi, testing director for ASCENT. “We believe that this upgrade will enhance our reputation and allow us to better serve our community by offering more comprehensive testing options. We are looking forward to supporting our candidates in their educational and professional journeys with this new capability.”

To find specific exams available at the FSU Panama City Testing Center, visit home.personvue.com and find which organization you are trying to test using the search bar. For instance, teachers trying to take their FTCE/FELE exams would type in Florida Department of Education, which will then take them their exam specifics.
