Florida State University Panama City and Rutherford High School in Springfield are sponsoring a free summer camp series for students in grades 7-12 focusing on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) in July.

The STEM Mavericks Summer Camp (pdf) will include artificial intelligence projects, STEM labs, expert guest speakers and team challenges. Students will build AI models and explore real-world applications; engage in experiments; learn from industry professionals; and collaborate with peers.

Lunch will be provided every day. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged. For information or to register, email Denise Newsome, director of Youth Initiatives, at dnewsome@fsu.edu.

Camp sessions will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 9-12, July 16-18, and July 23-25 at Rutherford High School, 1000 School Ave., Springfield.
The camp is co-sponsored by TAC Government Solutions and the Department of Defense’s Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO).
