FSU Panama City Pre-Law Club to host First Amendment Debate
Florida State University Panama City’s student-led Pre-Law Club will host a special First Amendment Debate featuring FSU College of Law professor Denise Harle and Panama City attorney Michel Stone on April 20.
The free event is open to the public and will take place in the St. Joe Community Foundation Lecture Hall in the Holley Academic Center, 4750 Collegiate Drive, Panama City, from noon to 2 p.m. on Monday, April 20. A complimentary lunch will be provided by Coastside Café. Register in advance here.
Harle is a clinical professor and director of the First Amendment Clinic at FSU College of Law, where she leads student advocacy and litigation on free speech, religious liberty and press freedom issues. A frequent speaker and media commentator on constitutional law, she has also testified before the U.S. Senate on matters of constitutional significance.
Stone graduated from Bay High School before attending Harvard University, where he graduated with honors. He returned to Panama City after practicing law in New York City. He became a partner in the personal injury law firm of Urquhart, Pittman and Stone, and then opened the firm of Stone & Sutton, where he practices family law. He also was an assistant public defender for 10 years and was appointed chief of the Public Defender’s Office Capital Division.

The FSU Panama City Pre-Law Club is a recognized student organization focused on exposing students to the myriad of opportunities in the legal profession. Pre-Law Club members are students from a wide variety of majors, interests and backgrounds who are curious to explore the field of law.
