FSU PANAMA CITY AND THE COLLEGIATE SCHOOL CLOSED THURSDAY DUE TO POSSIBLE SEVERE WEATHER

Florida State University Panama City and the Collegiate School at FSU PC will be closed on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024 due to the threat of possible severe weather from Tropical Storm Helene, which is projected to be upgraded to a hurricane.

The closure begins at 12:01 am CT Thursday, Sept. 26, and will continue until 6:00 a.m. CT Friday, Sept. 27, 2024. The campuses expect to resume normal business operations on Friday.

Florida State University in Tallahassee will close at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25, and reopen for normal business operations on Monday, Sept. 30

FSU Panama City’s Discovery Day by the Bay, which was set for Friday, and the Aucilla Research Center’s Priscilla the mastodon exhibit, which was planned for Friday and Saturday have been postponed. Both events will be rescheduled for the near future.

Rain, winds, and thunderstorms are possible ahead of tropical storm conditions Wednesday through Friday. Please stay alert and continue to monitor weather conditions. Potential impacts to the area include severe wind damage, flooding and power outages. Exercise caution, seek shelter, and stay indoors anytime storm conditions impact campus and surrounding areas.
