Organizational Management and Communication graduate student serves in the Air Force Reserves
What is your name, rank, job and branch of service?
My name is Senior Airman (SrA) Bethany Bonilla-Colon, I am a 3P0X5 (in the Security Forces) and I am a part of the U.S. Air Force Reserves.
As a student military service member, what has stood out to you as a positive experience while enrolled at FSU Panama City? How do you feel the local Panama City community has demonstrated support for you as a military service member?
Being involved in the FSU Panama City campus has been an incredible experience. Not only do I receive excellent academic support, but I also feel consistently supported by my professors, even during short-notice deployments or temporary duty assignments (TDYs). They are always there to offer guidance and assistance, going above and beyond to help me succeed both in and out of uniform. Choosing this campus as my academic home was the best decision I could have made. I always had the conviction that when I was accepted into the Organizational Management and Communication graduate program, this was the ideal place for me to thrive academically and professionally, while also fulfilling my role as a member of the United States Air Force and supporting its mission.
What are your end goals upon completing your degree? How do you feel your degree will help you in achieving your goals?
Upon completing my degree, my end goal is to apply my knowledge and skills in organizational management communication to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of my unit in the USAF. I am passionate about implementing innovative solutions that can optimize communication within the organization, improve collaboration and streamline processes. With my degree, I believe I will be equipped with the necessary tools and strategies to address communication challenges and implement effective solutions within my unit.
The support and guidance I have received from my professors at the FSU Panama City campus has been instrumental in shaping my academic and professional journey, and I am confident that my degree will empower me to make a meaningful impact in my role while supporting the mission of the Air Force.
