BASE COMMANDERS, VETERANS TO ADDRESS FSU PC VETERANS DAY EVENT
Florida State University Panama City will mark Veterans Day early with a celebration featuring 300 guests from Bay District Schools ROTC and military science classes on Nov. 6.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will be in the St. Joe Community Foundation Lecture Hall at the Holley Academic Center, 4750 Collegiate Drive in Panama City. Registration is at 10 a.m., with the program beginning at 10:30 a.m.
The agenda starts with comments from Bay District Schools Superintendent Mark McQueen, a retired U.S. Army major general; U.S. Navy Cmdr. Michael Mosi, commanding officer of Naval Support Activity Panama City; and U.S. Air Force Col. Chris Bergtholdt, commanding officer of the 325th Fighter Wing, Air Combat Command, Tyndall Air Force Base.
The keynote speakers will be William Francis, a retired USAF colonel and director of the FSU Veterans Center in Tallahassee; and Terry Gabreski, a retired USAF lieutenant general. Francis will be introduced by Jim Allen, FSU PC’s director of Academic Services and a USN veteran who serves as liaison for the Student Veterans Center at FSU PC.
A free lunch will be provided to all registered participants and guests. Afterward, Allen will moderate a discussion by a panel of student veterans. The program will be viewable on Zoom as well at fsu.zoom.us/j/98377997256.
