Kristin Gibson is a visiting professor of Spanish at Florida State University at Panama City. She obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay with a double major in Spanish and Business. Her first master’s was in Education-Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University-Wisconsin. From there, she taught middle school in Wisconsin for 3 years before moving to Florida to complete a masters in Spanish (emphasis in linguistics) and her Ph.D. in Spanish (emphasis in psycholinguistics and second language acquisition). During her education, she has taught for over 12 years at the collegiate level for the classes of Elementary Spanish 1 and 2, and Intermediate Spanish 1. She also created a Spanish for Careers course and is developing the Spanish program at FSU-PC. In the Fall Semester of 2023, she will be the first professor teaching high school students at the collegiate level for the Florida State University Collegiate School in Panama City, Florida.

Kristin also started a Spanish club at FSU-PC (starting Fall 2023) that is open to all students and hosts a Spanish conversation table open to all where students/faculty/staff can practice the language in an informal environment with people of other levels.
