STEM Institute kicks off 2015 summer STEM camps and introduces new addition to the ‘Nole family

A press conference will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. in the FSU Panama City Holley Academic Center Lecture Hall marking the official “kick-off” of the FSU Panama City STEM Institute 2015 summer STEM camps and introducing the latest advanced technology acquisition and addition to the ‘Nole family made possible by the AT&T Foundation.

John Smith, Interim Director of the FSU Panama City STEM Institute, Ginger Littleton, FSU Panama City STEM Coordinator and Steve Leach, FSU Panama City Interim Dean will discuss STEM education and upcoming STEM Institute activities. Student programmers for “SAM E. NOLE,” the Institute’s current NAO robot, will introduce the newest ‘Nole whose name will be announced at the event. Presenters will be available for media interviews following the presentation as well as a tour of the summer camp for rising 8th graders in progress that week.

The FSU Panama City STEM Institute seeks to create engaging learning experiences for K-12 students and teachers that inspire the next generation to pursue STEM education and careers. SAM E. NOLE and the Institute’s newest acquisition play a major part promoting that goal, expanding the Institute’s role in research and teaching and providing students a higher level of interaction in computer programming and application.
