FSU Panama City commencement to honor graduates
Florida State University Panama City will honor its newest graduates at a commencement ceremony at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 3, at the Marina Civic Center in Panama City, Fla. Of the 342 graduates for the 2014-2015 academic year, about 200 will participate in the ceremony. FSU Interim Provost Sally McRorie and FSU Panama City Interim Dean Steve Leach will preside.
Panama City businessman and tax consultant Floyd Skinner will deliver the commencement address to graduates. Skinner’s working career included auditing financial institutions for the State of Alabama and working for the tax department of the former Gulf & Western Corporation in New York City. His company, Skinner Tax Consulting, Inc., provided specialized tax consulting services to Fortune 500 companies.
Skinner serves on the Emerald Coast board of Trustmark Bank, and his charity work has included serving on the boards of the Salvation Army, Bay Medical Center, Healthsouth and the American Heart Association. He has also assisted in fundraising for FSU Panama City and Gulf Coast State College.
