FSU PANAMA CITY TO OFFER WRITING CENTER CONSULTATION
Florida State University Panama City will offer students a new level of support for writing projects and research papers when classes start for the fall semester.
Writing Program Manager Tony Simmons will be available for consultations and editing advice from 9-11 a.m. Tuesdays and from 2-4 p.m. Wednesdays in study room A110-H in the Dr. and Mrs. James T. Cook Library & Learning Center. The library is on the first floor of the Holley Academic Center, 4750 Collegiate Drive. Simmons will also be available by appointment on Fridays.
After a three-decade career in print journalism, Simmons taught high school English and Creative Writing classes before joining the FSU PC Office of Advancement as the staff writer. He is the author of numerous books and short stories, freelance articles and pop culture essays. He is also a founding member of the independent publishing cooperative, The Syndicate Studio.
In the FSU PC Writing Center, Simmons will help students with technical topics like formatting a research paper, editing techniques, and proper citations in non-fiction work, as well as literary approaches and styles for fiction. Email tony.simmons@pc.fsu.edu for details or to make an appointment.
