VIRTUAL SESSIONS TO EXPLORE FSU PANAMA CITY PROGRAMS, ADMISSIONS, SCHOLARSHIPS

Tony Simmons

Over the next several weeks, Florida State University Panama City will host a series of virtual information sessions for prospective students focusing on the admissions process, scholarship opportunities and academic programs. It’s one of many  avenues by which the Office of Admissions is reaching out to the community.

“My goal is to highlight each one of the academic programs,” said Susan Hogg, assistant dean of Enrollment. “This is fall travel season for recruitment, and we’ve been visiting lots of college fairs and high schools throughout Florida. But not everyone can make it to a fair because of work hours or schedules, so this is another way to reach prospective students.”

The virtual sessions will include information specific to transfer students, freshmen, graduate students, and certain programs. Links to register for the virtual events may be found on the Admissions page, PC.FSU.edu/admissions.

Here is a partial calendar of virtual information events:

  • Graduate Student Information: noon on Oct. 22.
  • Organization Management and Communications Program: 5 p.m. on Oct. 22.
  • Transfer Student Admissions: noon on Oct. 23 and 30; Nov. 6 and 13; and Dec. 4 and 11.
  • Freshman Admissions: 5 p.m. on Oct. 23 and 30; Nov. 6 and 13; and Dec. 4 and 11. The Admissions Office will also offer a guaranteed scholarship to incoming freshmen.
  • Social Work Program: noon on Oct. 25; Nov. 8 and 15; and Dec. 6.
  • Law Enforcement Intelligence Program: 5 p.m. on Oct. 29.
  • Financial Planning Program: 6 p.m. on Nov. 4.

In addition to the virtual sessions, Admissions is holding in-person “Visit Days” from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturdays this semester for campus tours and individualized information.

“We’re willing to work one-on-one with every student on financial aid packages to ensure they get the best value depending on their financial needs,” Hogg said. “At FSU PC, we are dedicated to making college affordable and accessible to all qualified students. That is why every first-time-in-college student admitted to FSU PC is guaranteed to receive up to $2,000 in scholarship support. Admitted students from Northwest Florida are guaranteed a minimum of a $1,500 scholarship.”
