SGC committee to discuss higher student fees
A Student Local Fee Committee, established in accordance with Florida State University 1009.24, will hold a public hearing 2-3 p.m. Friday. Oct. 12, in the SGC Conference Room, Barron 305, to discuss the following recommendations for changes in student local fees effective Fall Term 2019:
- Activity & Service (A&S): An increase in the current fee from $9.88 to $10.37 per credit hour.
- Athletics: An opt-in option for students to pay the Athletic fee charged to Florida State University student on the Tallahassee campus to receive the benefits associated with that fee including, but not limited to, access to student tickets for NCAA sporting events in Tallahassee.
An annual revenue for the increase in Activity & Service Fees may be derived using projected 2019-2020 credit hours to estimate and additional $10,500.
Florida State University Panama City would not receive additional revenue from the optional Athletic Fee. With no increase to the current Athletic Fee of the Panama City campus, revenue would remain stable.
The Public Hearing is an opportunity for the Committee to receive comments and feedback from the University community regarding the Committee’s recommendations.
