Sandy Spear Offers New Breakfast Menu, Early Morning Hours

Anastazia Harrod’s favorite new menu item at the Sandy Spear would have to be their homemade French toast with whipped cream, powdered sugar and syrup on top.

“We are very big on giving food that we love,” said Anastazia.

One of the things she and her husband, Josh Harrod, love is breakfast—which is why the Sandy Spear will begin opening at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12, and offering a full breakfast menu. Other delicious items on the new menu include a breakfast quesadilla, breakfast sandwiches, breakfast hash with scrambled eggs, and chocolate chip pancakes.

“We needed foods that would work with the menu items we already had,” Anastazia said. “Everyone loves quesadillas, so why not add some eggs and bacon?”

Along with exciting new foods, the Sandy Spear will also offer more flavors of their Dunkin cold brew coffees, as well as hot brewed coffee and a variety of different juices.

Anastazia said a common request since they opened last August was for breakfast options. After looking at foot traffic, it made sense to close earlier in the evening and shift those hours to the early morning.

New operating hours will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., allowing students an opportunity to eat breakfast, while leaving options for lunch and an early dinner available on campus. Located in the Larson Bland Conference Center between the Holley Academic Center and Seminole Landing, the Sandy Spear overlooks North Bay.

“We wanted to expand our hours in the morning time so that we could get with students who do miss us when they have only morning classes,” said Anastazia.
