FSU PC raises income eligibility threshold for FSU PC Promise Scholarship

Florida State University Panama City has raised the family income eligibility requirement by $10,000 for the FSU PC Promise Scholarship, increasing the number of students who may meet the criteria for the FSU PC Promise Scholarship.

“The FSU PC Promise Scholarship is made possible by our generous donors, including The Chapman Family Foundation, The St. Joe Community Foundation, and Pam and Larry Perry,” said Randy Hanna, dean of FSU PC. “We are committed to helping ensure financial need doesn’t deter students from achieving their goals in higher education.”

The FSU PC Promise Scholarship provides free tuition and fees for full-time undergraduate students of Bay, Gulf, Liberty, Gadsden, Jackson, Calhoun, Franklin, Washington, Holmes, Walton, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa and Escambia whose combined household adjusted gross income is $60,000 or less — recently increased from $50,000 or less — or are Pell eligible. This applies to new, returning and transfer students who are pursuing their first undergraduate degree at FSU PC. Students may take classes in person or online but must reside in one of the eligible Northwest Florida counties.

The first step is to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be identifiable as needing financial assistance at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa. (The school code for FSU is 001489. This scholarship is only for the Panama City campus.)

“In order to qualify, you have to have a current FAFSA on file. Please apply; it’s not too late,” said Kathryn Morgan, student financial aid officer. “We will help in any way possible.”

The FSU PC Promise Scholarship covers tuition and fees not covered by other financial aid assistance, such as a Pell grant, state grant or Bright Futures Scholarship.
