Dr. Mel Stith to speak at Black History Month lecture
FSU Panama City will host a Black History Month presentation with keynote speaker Dr. Mel Stith from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, in the Holley Lecture Hall.
Stith is the former dean of Florida State’s College of Business and the dean emeritus of the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University. Now retired, he sits on the board of directors for Aflac, Synovus Financial Corp., Flowers Foods, AARP Services Inc., the Jim Moran Foundation, the Crouse Hospital Foundation and Syracuse Stage. He also sits on the board of trustees for his alma mater, Norfolk State University.
The event also will include performances by the Global Arts Society and the Black Student Union’s presentation of the Black Alumni Award.
Lunch for Bay District Schools students will be provided.
