James McNiel – son is in the Louisiana Army National Guard.  He is an E-6 Staff Sargent currently deployed to the Middle East.

As a veteran or military family member, what has stood out to you as a positive experience or attribute during your experience working at FSU Panama City/The Collegiate School?

I love that FSU is so committed to serving veterans.  I especially love the Veterans Alliance Arrowhead and what it represents.  The new Collegiate School offers military preference to its students, which will have a positive impact on the military families moving to this area.

How do you feel the local Panama City/Bay County community has demonstrated its support for veterans and/or military family members?  

The local community embraces its military and veterans.  Local schools and businesses have always had alliances with Tyndall Air Force Base and the Navy Lab.  It’s really nice to see the current growth at Tyndall.
