Local women leaders to share stories, inspire student service at FSU PC
Some of the area’s top women in leadership will share their passion, talents and spirits of service with FSU Panama City students 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, beginning in Holley Academic Center room B209. This event will provide opportunities for students in Contemporary Leadership Challenges (MAN 4143) to learn about leadership in our community and hear the inspiring stories of these remarkable women leaders.
Guest speakers include Niki Kelly from Girls Inc. of Bay County, Janice Lucas from the LEAD Coalition of Bay County, Hiba Rahim from CAIR.ORG, Phyllis Reppen from Far Horizons and Cecile Scoon from the League of Women Voters.
This FSU Panama City business course provides broad exposure to the theories and practice of effective leadership and supervision in today’s business. The guest speakers will educate and inspire students who are learning to become the next generation of leaders in our community, discussing challenges within their sector, those they face as females and how they addressed these challenges successfully.
“Through this event we intend to give valuable insights to our students on leadership skills, help build a valuable link between theory and practice, and create bridges between academics and community,” business professor Eren Ozgen, Ph.D., said. “After the hurricane, we would like our students get stronger, more energized, inspired to do good and get the most in all the classes.”
