Learn management skills at free FSU PC Leadership Workshops for the public
Gain valuable professional skills and strengthen your leadership potential at Florida State University Panama City’s free public Leadership Workshop Series in July.
Eren Ozgen, Ph.D., a professor of management at FSU Panama City, will conduct two leadership workshops in the form of one-hour sessions designed to promote professional development in a non-judgmental, supportive setting. The first will be July 8, focusing on promoting personal productivity, and the second will be July 10, centered on motivation and communication.
Both workshops will take place from 11 a.m. to noon in the Holley Academic Center at FSU Panama City, 4750 Collegiate Drive, Panama City. The sessions are free, but an RSVP is requested by emailing eozgen@fsu.edu.
“The sessions are designed to inspire self-awareness and provide strategies that participants can immediately apply to lead and communicate more effectively,” said Ozgen.
An active scholar and a researcher with more than 30 peer-reviewed publications, Ozgen has given numerous academic seminars and conference presentations. A recipient of several research and teaching awards, her primary areas of expertise are leadership, strategy, management and organizational behavior.
Ozgen is also organizing an interactive Leadership Summer Camp for juniors and seniors in high school that will take place from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on July 15. The camp is intended for students who are interested in cultivating their professional development. The focus will be on key leadership skills such as creative problem solving and conflict management through hands-on activities.
“This is our first time offering the camp to high school students—something new and exciting,” Ozgen said. “Students will participate in interactive workshops designed to develop their teamwork, critical thinking and leadership potential. We’ll also have a campus tour during the lunch break and a chance to connect with FSU recruiters at the end of the event during our Future Fast Pass bonus session.”
