High-achieving students recognized on president’s, dean’s lists

Forty full-time students from Florida State’s College of Applied Studies, which is housed at FSU Panama City, were recognized for high academic achievement during the spring 2016 semester.

Fifteen students from the College of Applied Studies were recognized on Florida State’s president’s list for maintaining a 4.0 grade point average while enrolled in at least 12 credit hours during the semester. In all, 37 students campus wide earned the honor.

Twenty-five students from the College of Applied Studies maintained a GPA of 3.5 or higher while enrolled full-time, earning a spot on the dean’s list.

Florida State’s president’s list and the College of Applied Studies dean’s list recognize those who demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence and the ability to rise to the workload, however heavy it might become.

“The challenge to improve our society will be met by those students that achieve this type of recognition and whose use of knowledge is both wise and just,” FSU Panama City Dean Carol Edwards said. “This recognition shows an obvious commitment to learning, and we couldn’t be more proud of each of them.”

The College of Applied Studies houses bachelor’s programs in professional communication; public safety & security; and recreation, tourism & events. The college also offers master’s programs in corporate & public communication and nurse anesthesia, and certificate programs in event management, law enforcement intelligence and underwater crime scene investigation.
