FSU Panama City commencement to honor 318 new graduates
Florida State University Panama City will honor its newest graduates at a commencement ceremony at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at the Marina Civic Center in Panama City, Fla. Of the 318 graduates for the 2013-2014 academic year, about 200 will participate in the ceremony. FSU Interim Provost Sally McRorie and FSU Panama City Dean Ken Shaw will preside.
Gordon J. Sprague, who is chairman of the FSU National Alumni Association, will deliver the commencement address to graduates. Sprague is a successful businessman, world traveler, former race car driver, collector and dairy farmer. He graduated from Florida State University in 1965 and earned his master’s degree from the University of North Florida in 1975.
Sprague has spent the past several years involved in the community, serving on several boards. He serves as chairman of the FSU National Alumni Association.
Since its inception in 1982, FSU Panama City has graduated more than 8,000 students.
