Collegiate Drive to close at foot of Hathaway Bridge April 11

The Florida Department of Transportation has released a Public Service Announcement about an April road closure that may affect the flow of traffic to and from the FSU Panama City campus.

Access to Collegiate Drive at the intersection of U.S. 98 in Bay County will close beginning Wednesday, April 11, for intersection improvements associated with the $67.9 million 23rd Street Flyover project. The closure will remain in place until June 2016.

Drivers will utilize College Street or north Collegiate Drive off of 23rd Street to access Florida State University and Gulf Coast State College. There will be no traffic impact to U.S. 98 or 23rd Street. Detour signs and variable message boards will be on site to direct traffic.

All planned construction activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Motorists are reminded to pay attention to the speed limit when traveling through the construction area, to watch for construction equipment entering and leaving the roadway, and to use caution when driving through the work zone.
