Student Health Services

The Florida Department of Health Bay County will provide free Student Health Services to FSU Panama City students on campus on Mondays only for the next six weeks, temporarily pausing on-site service for Thursdays beginning Feb. 10. Twice weekly operations are expected to resume on-site March 28.

Free Student Health Services are provided 1 to 4 p.m. Mondays in Student Health Services at the Holley Academic Center at FSU Panama City. Students who need services on Thursdays during the next six weeks may contact the health department at 850-872-4455 to schedule appointments on a case-by-case basis to be seen at their Panama City location, 597 W. 11th St.


Diagnostic testing:

  • Urine pregnancy testing
  • HIV testing
  • High or low blow sugar test - glucose finger stick
  • Tuberculosis (TB) testing
  • Vaccinations
  • MMR (measles, mumps, rubella)
  • TDap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis)
  • Gardasil (HPV vaccine)
  • Menactra (meningitis)

Services based upon referral from primary care provider or provider specialist:

  • Illness and injury management
  • RN consultation without insurance billing
  • Study abroad physical
  • Smoking cessation services
  • Respiratory nebulizer treatments (for chronic or viral induced asthma)
  • Skin biopsies to test for abnormal changes in skin
  • Inserting or removing stitches
  • Wart removal
  • Nutrition counseling
  • Refilling of maintenance medications through a pharmacy of the student's choice
  • Strep testing
  • UTI (urinary tract infection) testing
  • Anemia iron testing - Hemoglobin finger stick
  • Mono testing

  • Cough, cold, or sore throat, what to take
  • Disease prevention
  • Flu, what to do if you get sick
  • Gastroenteritis
  • MRSA: learning how to control the spread of Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus
  • Wound care

Voluntary  COVID-19 Testing

COVID-19 testing will move from the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center to University Health Services, effective Monday, April 4, 2022.  Please visit https://uhs.fsu.edu/coronavirus/testing for more information. 

The university will continue to offer the same high-quality PCR testing through the joint TMH-FSU lab to students, faculty and staff at no cost through the remainder of the spring semester. Effective May 1, 2022, students, faculty and staff will need to provide a method of payment (estimated cost of $100) or insurance information when getting this testing through University Health Services.
