Collegiate Drive south of U.S. 98 intersection to close Oct 8

Adam Rose

Access to Collegiate Drive at the intersection of temporary U.S. 98 will close beginning Monday, Oct. 8 for overhead bridge deck work. The closure will remain in place until spring 2019.

Drivers will utilize Commodore Circle or north Collegiate Drive from 23rd Street to access Gulf Coast State College, Florida State University Panama City, the CareerSource Gulf Coast/Bay Economic Development Alliance building or Carl Gray Park and boat ramp. There will be no traffic impact to U.S. 98 or 23rd Street. Detour signs and variable message boards will be on site to direct traffic.

All planned construction activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Motorists are reminded to pay attention to the speed limit when traveling through the construction area, to watch for construction equipment entering and leaving the roadway, and to use caution when driving through the work zone. Speeding fines are doubled when workers are present.
