Counseling services are now available on campus for FSU Panama City students, to help with a variety of issues including time management, stress, depression, and anxiety. According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, anxiety is one of the most common mental health issues on college campuses. They report 40 million Americans have an anxiety disorder, with 75% experiencing their first episode of anxiety by age 22. A degree of anxiety is normal and can be helpful to give us that push or energy to perform. When anxiety becomes excessive and difficult to control, interfering with our daily activities, seeing a professional can be very helpful. There are effective therapies for anxiety and Counseling Center staff is available to help! The Counseling Center on campus offers a safe place to talk about transitions, problems, personal growth, and feelings of anxiousness. Counseling is free and confidential.
