Melissa Carlton, Ph.D. is an Assistant Teaching Faculty member of FSUPC. She teaches subjects in computer security, ethics, and microcomputer applications for both online and on campus students. She has a Master of Business Administration from Bellarmine University, a Master of Library and Information Studies from FSU’s College of Communication and Information as well as a PhD in Information Systems and Cybersecurity from Nova Southeastern University.
Dr. Carlton joined FSUPC in May 2000 as the webmaster for the campus. Her education and experience in the Technical Services department lead her to be named the Assistant Director of Technical Services in 2006. In August 2012, Dr. Carlton was promoted to Associate Director of Contracts & Grants and later joined the FSUPC faculty in 2013. Dr. Carlton’s cybersecurity research has been presented and published in top-tier peer reviewed publications as well as within the community. She seeks opportunities within the classroom and community to share cyber awareness as the Internet of Things (IoT) becomes more integrated in our everyday lives.
