The civil engineering major is a broad-based program emphasizing structural analysis and design, geotechnical design, construction/transportation, hydraulics and water resources, and environmental engineering.


The College of Engineering is jointly managed by Florida State University and Florida A & M University.

The Florida State University Panama City Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) program offers two majors leading to the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering: civil engineering and environmental engineering. The Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. The CEE program provides all required courses in a face-to-face instructional environment utilizing the state-of-the-art laboratories, classrooms and educational facilities available at FSU Panama City.

The CEE program at FSU Panama City is designed with the students' success in mind. With class sizes averaging fewer than 15, students benefit from a personal teaching environment and individual attention. The FAST-TRACK option provides a four-semester program to degree completion. All the CEE classes are scheduled only two days a week, making the commute to campus much more cost effective and efficient. Both full and part time schedules are available. A faculty advisor will work with students to create a program of study that meets each student's unique needs.

The civil engineering major is a broad-based program emphasizing all aspects of the profession's practice, including structural, geotechnical, construction, transportation, hydraulics and water resources, and environmental engineering. The environmental engineering major focuses primarily on environmental engineering, hydraulics, hydrology, water resources, and management of all types of wastewater systems.

Numerous scholarships and other forms of financial aid are available to CEE students. Civil Engineering is considered as one of the best jobs in the United States based on salary, prestige, growth and security.
