About one-third of FSU Panama City’s 85 endowed scholarships are named in honor of a family member or loved one. Endowed scholarships are privately funded and recognize superior scholarship, leadership and exemplary character among student recipients who have high financial need.
The Florida State University Panama City, FL campus will be closed effective 12 midnight until 9 a.m. central on Wednesday, February 24th. Florida State University continues to actively monitor weather conditions. Be advised university administrators will take appropriate action should conditions warrant.
The Spring Fling, student elections and the new SGC adviser were discussed at SGC’s third meeting of the semester on Feb. 4. The next SGC meeting will be at 7:45 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, in the SGC Conference Room, Barron 305.
FSU Panama City will host “Fast to the Future,” a speed career exploration event for students, 1:15-2:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, in the FSU Panama City Holley Academic Center. Students from any major and all prospective college students are welcome.
FSU Panama City’s Student Government Council had its eye on special events during the second meeting of the semester on Jan. 21. SGC’s Special Events Committee has begun planning this semester’s Spring Fling, brainstorming activities and discussing possible event dates.
Cpl. Jeremy Izquierdo now has a Florida State degree to pair with his badge. While working nights patrolling the Tallahassee campus with the FSU Police Department, Izquierdo earned his bachelor’s degree in public safety & security. He graduated from FSU Panama City’s distance learning program in December 2015, specializing in law enforcement operation.
The FSU Panama City Bookstore is hosting a Graduation Fair Monday, February 8 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
FSU Panama City’s Student Government Council went straight to work the first week of spring classes, welcoming five new members during its first meeting of the semester. Jessica Kim, Wiatt Lewis, Camerin Dixon, Alessandra Feria and Timothy Schrier were sworn in Jan. 7.
FSU Panama City’s STEM Institute will host area students at the second annual “SURGE: Students Understanding the Research and Groundwork of Experiments” event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 27 in the Holley Lecture Hall.
